Cougar Catamaran Build Options

Our range of SCMS/MCA Approved Cougar fibreglass Cougar Catamarans are available in sizes from 6 metre to 14 metre.

Each catamaran is manufactured to customer specification from one of our build options. Any special requirements can be arranged, please contact us to discuss.

OPTION 1

Mouldings Kit

A full mouldings kit for home or yard completion.  The hull comes with rib and frames, bulkheads, gunwale and foredeck bonded to the hull.  Wheelhouse and roof supplied loose.

Vessels requiring SCMS/MCA certification must have deck beams fitted.

OPTION 2

FULL STRUCTURE

All structural work completed – hull complete with ribs and frames, bulkheads, gunwale and foredeck, deck beams, gussets and below decks skeleton.

GRP engine hatches, GRP stern hatches complete with hatch drains & fittings

Finished in two tone grey non-slip coating, Wheelhouse & Roof.

OPTION 2: FULL STRUCTURE
  • Hull complete with ribs and frames, two bulkheads, to our standard specification and general arrangement drawings.
  • Gunwale and foredeck bonded to hull.
  • All deck beams, gussets and below decks skeleton/strengthening complete, 20mm nida Plast decks, including 2xGRP engine hatches, 2xGRP stern hatches complete with all hatch drains and stainless fittings and hinges, all bonded in position and sheaved with GRP, all finished in two tone grey non slip finish.
  • All below decks flow coated in light grey.
  • 4x GRP engine vents fitted.
  • 2x scuppers cut and sealed in transom.
  • Trunking for controls/cables/electric’s etc in each hull fitted.
  • Standard size wheelhouse and roof fitted and bonded to deck, standard console moulding fitted.
  • Rear bulkhead with temporary opening cut out fitted.

OPTION 3

Sail Away

Our full-build option ready for you to sail away upon completion. Includes all option 2 features, plus fitting of owner supplied engines, fuel system, water intake system, stern gear package, 12v starting system, 120amph battery, GRP fuel tanks, gunwale, electric bilge pumps & alarms, fendering, hydraulic steering system, morse controls, auxiliary 6-way switch panel, navigation lights, helms seat, bench seat with storage, GRP console, engine panels with looms, wheelhouse finished, stainless rails, standard gantry with anchor light, set of windows and one door, stainless bollards & mooring cleats.

OPTION 3: SAIL AWAY

Our full build sail away option comprises as Stage 2 plus the following

  • Install and align owner supplied engines, with wet exhaust, water locks silencers, transom fittings hoses and clips.
  • Fuel system, including fuel pre filters and piped and clipped.
  • Water intake system including strainers, valves etc.
  • Stern gear package consisting of shafts, tubes and tide seals, rudder tubes and rudders and skeg assembly all fitted and connected via tie bar.
  • 12 volt starting system, 1x 120amph battery via isolator per engine.
  • 2 x GRP fuel tanks including all fittings and gunwale fillers and vents.
  • 1 x electric bilge pump in each engine bay including alarms and panel.
  • 1 x manual bilge pump in each engine bay.
  • Fendering on and completed.
  • Hydraulic steering system in and complete with all connections and standard wheel fitted.
  • Morse controls and cables all connected.
  • Auxilliary 6 way switch panel.
  • Port and starboard navigation lights mounted on wheelhouse roof sides.
  • KAB 301 helms seat mounted on GRP base.
  • Bench seat with storage underneath in wheelhouse.
  • GRP console fitted.
  • Engine panels fitted in console with looms connected from engines.
  • Wheel house finished in flow coat.
  • Side and stern stainless steel rails and standard gantry with anchor light.
  • Standard set of windows and one door.
  • 3 x stainless steel bollards
  • 2 x stainless steel mooring cleats.
